Airbnb is listing the house from the hit show for a limited time. The occasion? Getting in Bel-Air spirit before the big reboot (and celebrating).
Did You Know The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air Is Rebooting?
First thing's first, in case you didn't know, on August 11, 2020, The Hollywood Reporter made many of our dreams come true when it announced that a reboot was in the works and in fact had been for about a year.
It Was Inspired By A Fan Trailer
When we say dreams really come true, we mean it. It all started when director and filmmaker Morgan Cooper got creative and made a modern and dramatic trailer reimagining the series, which unexpectedly went viral.
Will Smith Himself Was Impressed
The trailer got more than 5 million views on YouTube alone, and it was shared all over social media. Naturally, it started to get the attention of the show's stars, too. First Tatyana Ali retweeted it and said it was "cool."
In about a month, Will smith himself had seen it and invited Morgan Cooper to talk about it with him directly in Miami. He even made a video about it naming it "How I Really Feel About That BEL-AIR Trailer."
The Opportunity Of A Lifetime
Will Smith saw potential in Cooper, praising his work: "Yo, that's an idea that is brilliant.'" He ended up giving Cooper a spot to cowrite the script, and even helped direct and produce with the original series' producers.
Smith reimagined the sitcom as a drama that can use existing storylines. It'll even have the same title as the trailer.
The Fresh Prince Mansion Listing
The news didn't stop there. Shortly after, Will Smith turned his fans' world upside down when he posted a picture in front of the original mansion telling them that they can also move in to the town called Bel-Air (for a night, and auntie and uncle are not included).
Live Like A Prince
During your stay, you'll feel so much like the royalty you'll be doing the Carlton dance all through the mansion. You'll have an entire wing of the mansion to yourself. That means you'll be using Will's bedroom and bathroom.
What It Looks Like On The Inside
The house has been updated since we're not in the '90s anymore, but it still sparks all of the nostalgic feelings. Some of the modern, VIP-level features include a basketball hoop in the bedroom and a display of Jordans so you can even channel in Will's passions
You'll Get Your Own Butler
Sadly, it won't be Geoffrey, and don't count on anyone serving you food to have a posh British accent. However, unlike most Airbnbs, your food will be cooked for you (but also socially distanced).
The Outside Is Just As Posh
Yes, you get your own private pool to lounge around. That's for whenever you need to take a break from the rest of the entertainment that includes DJ turntables, full access to a closet, a pool table, and bragging to everyone you know about where you are.
It's Totally Affordable!
You might want to sit close to a computer on Sept 29th, which is when bookings open for the mansion—all for just $30/night! Unfortunately, though, there are only five spots available, and they're reserved for LA county residents. The rest of us will have to continue to live vicariously.
If only my mom would get scared and send me to live in Bel-Air.
